Bar Exam Format
Colorado administers the Uniform Bar Exam (“UBE”). The Colorado bar exam consists of the MEE and MPT on Tuesday and, on Wednesday, the MBE.
Day 1
Day one has two written components. The six MEE questions occur in the three-hour morning section. The two MPT tasks occur in the three-hour afternoon section.
Day 2
Day two has the multiple-choice component. One set of 100 MBE questions occur in the 3-hour morning section. Another set of 100 MBE questions occur in the 3-hour afternoon section.
Reciprocity
Under certain circumstances, Colorado allows for admission without examination for applicants having a first law degree from an American Bar Association-approved law school who either: 1) are lawyers admitted to the bar of a reciprocal jurisdiction who apply for admission on motion; or 2) transfer a UBE score of at least 276 from another jurisdiction.

The Colorado bar exam subjects that may be tested on the essay component of the Colorado bar exam include:

- Article 9 of the U.C.C. – Secured Transactions;
- Conflict of Laws;
- Constitutional Law;
- Contracts (including Article 2 of the U.C.C. – Sales);
- Corporations;
- Criminal Law (including Criminal Procedure);
- Decedents’ Estates;
- Evidence Law;
- Family Law;
- Federal Civil Procedure;
- Limited Liability Companies;
- Partnerships;
- Real Property;
- Torts; and
- Trusts and Future Interests.
Bar Exam Dates
The Colorado bar exam is held in February and July. The exam is usually on the last Wednesday and prior Tuesday of each month.

Exam Results
Ordinarily, the Colorado Board of Law Examiners provide the Colorado bar exam results nine weeks after administering the Colorado bar exam. The Colorado examiners will post online a list of passers and mail notices of scores to all takers.
Scoring/Grading
The Colorado bar exam pass rate differs from exam to exam. Between 59% to 81% of total takers pass the Colorado bar exam. From 71% to 89% of first-time takers pass the exam. Between 21% and 52% of repeat takers pass the exam.
